Course Description Learn basic practical skills and tips for translating Japanese patent specifications into English as well as learn to translate basic patent claims.

Course Objective (Goal) Obtain fundamental knowledge and skills of translating Japanese written patent application documents into English written patent application documents, taking patent applications to USPTO into account.
Leaning Outcome  Students who have successfully completed this course will be able to translate accurately, precisely, and comprehensively Japanese patent documents including patent applications, patent claims, and patent specifications into English and prepare patent application documents that are applicable to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and EU patent authorities by understanding and becoming familiar with terminology, word and idiom usage, writing style and standard, and patent application practices in the U.S., EU, and Japan. Translate at a speed of 250 words/hour (source language).

3. Submit assignment and check degree of acquisition
