| Course Summary | Making basic websites by manually entering HTML tags without the use of website creation software. | ||||||||||||
| How this course was developed | Since the 1990's translation specialists have been able to use the Internet to conduct business affairs such as receiving documents online as well as sending translated work. In addition, it has been important to develop and manage one's homepage, and Babel University has therefore taught students skills needed to create and maintain a website. Translators, especially professional translator specialists, use their own website as a freelance translator to market their skills and create their image as a translator. Therefore, when Babel University Professional School of Translation was inaugurated in 2000, Seiichi Komuro, who was currently the IT department head and had worked closely with Babel University Professional School of Translation's website construction developed this course. This course has been offered since 2002, and continues to be revised annually to keep up with changing technology. The latest revision was in 2011. | ||||||||||||

| Course Progression | 1. Read "Basics in Website Creation" Install and check operation of any necessary software - For any questions or problems regarding the use of the software, use the Q&A Bulletin Board 3. Start from Lecture 1 - Start each lecture by filling in the required information in the "Lecture Bulletin Board" - Make sure you go through each instruction and actually operate the software yourself - Use the "Q&A Bulletin Board" to ask questions if you face any problems. 4.
