Professor Profile:
Graduated from Meiji University Literature Department Japanese Literature Major(1980). Worked at International Department of Jusco (Currently Eaon, the second largest retail supermarket in Japan). Involved in joint ventures with overseas companies(1980-1989). Worked at Okeda Law Firm and currently Kitahara Partners as a paralegal. Lectured at Babel translation classroom since 1996. Involved in writing teaching materials of Babel University Professional School of Translation since 1999. Since 2009 worked as a professor of International Paralegal and Legal Translation Major of Babel University Professional School of Translation.
Course Summary Drafting internal documents in English such as company assembly minutes and board of directors’ meeting minutes.
How this course was developed Since it is extremely important job as international paralegals and legal translators to make of the articles of incorporation, the minutes and other law related essential documents for the board of directors, the general meeting of stockholders, the Babel University Professional School of Translation established this course and asked Professor Yoshiharu Ishida the development of the course when the International Paralegal and Legal Translation Major founded in 2003. Professor Yoshiharu Ishida developed the course in respond to the request, and this lecture course was registered in 2003. Along the revision of the Japanese company law, the Babel Corporation asked Professor Fumi Fujinaga to do full-scale revision of the teaching course materials. Professor Fumi Fujinaga revised the teaching materials overall, and the revised lecture course was registered in 2007.
Course Objective Have students obtain an ability and skill for drafting corporate documents including the minutes of shareholders meeting and the minutes of board of directors meeting in English. This course is not a course for translation, but a course for drafting corporate documents.
Learning Outcome  Students who have successfully completed this course will be able to draft formal corporate documents in English. 
Course Progression 1. Study the core course material and learn the basics in drafting minutes and other legal documents.
2. Following the instructions in the course guide, work on the exercises and practice writing a minute to submit as assignment.
3. Listen to audio lecture and use the Q&A for any queries.

Exercise Workbook
