Engaged in distance education since 1990. Instructor of Building Homepage course and Machine Translation course since 2000, and eTechnology manager since 2006. Presiding Babel MT (Machine Translation) Institute. Wrote many articles on information technology for translation. |

| Course Summary | Learn practical techniques to improve translational productivity by using translation assistance tools. | ||||||||||||||||
| How this course was developed | Since the year 2000, computer based translation and translation software has improved dramatically, and translators have switched to solely to using computers in translation, using various software tools in the various processes of translation. This course teaches students how to integrate various software tools to translate more effectively. This course was first offered in 2011. | ||||||||||||||||
| Course Objective | Have students learn techniques to perform a multi-step translation process focusing on translation memory software. Course uses workshop style exercises. | ||||||||||||||||

| Grade Evaluation and Course Requirement | Assignments for all 8 lectures are required. There will be no final exam for this course. Grades will be evaluated on the scores of the assignments from grades A to F. Submission papers will be returned with the evaluation sheet, which states evaluation marking and comments as well as corrections with rubrics. *Minimum Course Requirement: B or above |
